You must meet the eligibility criteria set out on this page to apply for an UPLIFTED Scholarship. Ineligible applications will be rejected.
All UPLIFTED scholarship applications are assessed against our scholarship policy.

To be eligible for an UPLIFTED Scholarship you must:
Be a citizen of a sub-Saharan African country.
Be from an underserved community and/or background, particularly underprivileged orphans.
Have gained admission into a State or Federal University in Nigeria or be working towards it.
Have exceptional academic performance records with O’ Level grades A-C only and JAMB / UTME score of 220 and above. OR Transcript with cumulative GPA / GPA score of 3.0 and above.
Write an essay explaining: why you need the UPLIFTED scholarship; what difference it would make; and how you will give back to your community. The essay should be no more than 750 words, apportioned equally across the three sections.

Two identity documents. Acceptable documents are: National Identity Number (NIN), Birth certificate, International passport, NHIS ID card.
Letter of admission into a state of federal Nigerian university.
Academic performance results.
Two reference letters.
Birth certificate, international passport, or affidavit of birth certificate.
Death certificate or proof of abandonment, neglect or hardship.
12 month bank statement showing proof of household income.
Extra requirements for applicants who are under 18 years old: One reference must be from the last secondary school principal. Parental consent is required for applicants under 18 years for access rights to the applicant’s academic records and personal information. Consent provided includes charitable purposes, media, and social testimonials.
Please note that you are not eligible to apply for the UPLIFTED Scholarship if you hold a university degree.
