The process of selecting UPLIFTED Scholars takes at least three months. This duration begins from the application deadline to when applicants are conditionally selected for an scholarship award. Here is an overview of the application and selection process, so you always know what’s going on.

• APPLICATIONS OPEN (06 APRIL 2026)

• APPLICATIONS CLOSE (10 MAY 2026)

  The deadline for applications is 10 May 2026 at 12:00 (GMT+1). You will not be able to access the online application system after this date.

• APPLICANTS SIFTED AGAINST ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (MAY 2026)

• PANEL SHORTLISTING FOR INTERVIEWS (JUNE 2026)

  A reading committees assess all eligible applications and produces a shortlist. These candidates are invited to interview. Congratulations if you make it this far! To prepare for your interview, please read our interview guidance.

• INTERVIEWS TAKE PLACE (11 JUNE TO 13 JUNE 2026)

  Candidates from all over sub-Saharan Africa are interviewed by panels.

  Candidates invited for interview have until the end of the interview period. They must send their references alongside other evidence to info@upliftedme.org before 7 June 2026 at 23.59 (GMT + 1). Please note that we will only send interview invitations to candidates who have submitted all necessary documents.

• RESULTS (FROM JULY 2026)

  After months of preparation and hard work, successful candidates will experience jubilation when interview results are announced from July onwards.

• OFFER DEADLINE (17 JULY 2026)

  If you are invited to interview and succeed, you will need to submit your unconditional offer. This offer must be from a Nigerian university. The deadline to receive and submit at least one unconditional offer is 17:00 (GMT+1) on 17 July 2026.

• STUDIES BEGIN IN NIGERIA (FROM OCTOBER 2026)

  2026/2027 UPLIFTED Scholars commence their studies in Nigeria. They enter into a network that they’ll be a part of for the rest of their lives!
